A Backhoe prepares the trench..
The project consisted of the construction of 39,000± L.F. of 30" pipeline and 5,000± L.F. of 24" pipeline, along with a number of appurtenances and connections to existing District facilities. The pipeline conveys water from a well field on the District's westerly boundary to the District's primary service area in the City of Ridgecrest. The project was constructed within and/or adjacent to lands under the jurisdiction of a number of agencies, including the U.S. Navy, Caltrans, Kern County, and the City of Ridgecrest, making for a complicated alignment selection and encroachment permit acquisition process.
